Established on April 15, 2007, the center fulfills Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati’s vision of uplifting women from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), operating under the guidance of Arya Samaj Arun Vihar.
The center provides tailoring, sewing, and embroidery training to women from low-income families, many of whom have limited formal education.
In partnership with Singer India Ltd, the center has been running a certified six-month diploma course since February 2022.
Classes are held five days a week with three daily two-hour batches. A third batch was added on January 1, 2024, to accommodate growing demand.
Diplomas are awarded to students upon completing the six-month theoretical and practical training and passing the final examination.
There are currently 51 young women enrolled across the three batches.
Over the past eight months alone, 11 students successfully completed the course and were given their own sewing machines by Arya Samaj to help them start their livelihoods.
To date, the program has proudly distributed 327 diploma certificates and 204 sewing machines to successful graduates.
